English Translation
- 4 - Specialized library and a large collection of newspapers gained in value and thus not only facilitated the scientific work in archive, but also the value of the individual documents increased by their classification into the entire source material of a certain epoch. Through such a surgical operation as the division of the archive, both parts - both the remaining part, as the one attributed to the army archive, as well as the other - will lose their value, while the archive itself, on which Russian emigration could rightly be proud, will be transformed into a non-viable institution deprived of its organic components without any scientific significance. The above considerations force me, in my capacity as head of the scientific organ of the Russian History Archive, to ask for the support of your Excellency in order to protect the archive from such an inconvenient blow as the division of the material stock would mean. As far as I know, the final solution to this question depends on the central administration of the Army Archive. I take this opportunity to express my excellent respect for your Excellency. ez.: A. Fateyev Topoatooaas of the Scientific Council of the Russian History Archive.
