Workers, even those who were so far regarded as deutsh- kind, often refused to accept the free cards with more or less flimsy reasons. Individual workers, for example, said that they would have liked to have visited the idea if they were not accused of not being in solidarity with representatives and workers. In some cases, this negative attitude even went so far that, for instance, a worker (pills) broke his card demonstratively and tried to prevent other workers from attending the presentation. The rejection was most evident in the visit to the meetings. Apart from the fact that the visitors were almost all young workers, sometimes also young Czechs and older people over 50 years of age, who made the impression of political indifference or ignorance, the number of visitors gave the most clear proof of the boycott. In various places, individual cinemas were only very weakly visited, so that, in order to obscure this embarrassing impression, one was forced to bring passers-by from the street to the cinemas. In addition, it was observed that Czech children sold the free tickets to members of the Wehrmacht and the German protective police. In their rejection, the workers were encouraged by corresponding pa-rols spread by word of mouth. Thus, the action was described as being carried out by the Nouz on behalf of the Germans, which only pursue the purpose of keeping the Czech working class, which makes a significant contribution to further warfare, in a good mood. It was pointed out in this connection that it would be more appropriate to improve wages and pensions or to distribute food tickets instead of cinema tickets. Especially former Marxist workers declared "with such free tickets we cannot eat ourselves full. The distribution of fat would have been more reasonable."
