9t The enclosed special number of the Czech magazine "Obrana Národa" /Wehr der Nation/ reads in German transmission: To all Czechs! To the invitation of Konrad Henlein to a mutually fruitful cooperation. A comment on an ununderstood speech. - Will we draw the Kon= sequences? As a truly national and independent paper, we have always considered it our most urgent duty to make known the broad public of our nation with every rally of the Führer and Reich = Chancellor Adolf Hitler and his most outstanding nit workers=. We would consider it a disadvantage for our nation if it were not honestly informed of the views and wishes of these leading and decisive factors of the Great German Empire and of the leading men of the German people. Today, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia is an inseparable part of the Grand German Empire. The present and the future u n = s e r e s people are in irreconcilable connection with him. It is therefore necessary that every Czech who feels and acts at national level gets a correct impression of what the Germans want from us= and on which paths we have to go into a better and quieter future. These facts, however, do not find the necessary response either in the press or in the statements of the responsible persons, where we would have to expect it. We do not know whether the mere ignorance, intransigence or intention is; in any case, this is to the detriment of the Czech people. Konrad Henlein is one of the foremost and most intrepid leaders and fighters of the Sudeten Germans and was drawn to us at the time of the party = democracy and the Benesh government as enemy of the Czech people. Today this "enemy of yesterday" comes to us with an honest and comradely outstretched right to a fruitful cooperation; to a friendly and honest together= living of the Germans and Czechs on the ground of the common father= country; for its well-being, continuation and healthy future.- The struggle,
