Group I 6 I 6 c - 2800 Prague, May 1942. Mr. Head of Division b.:z x At the request of the Wehrmacht, the district doctors have to be much more closely integrated into the surveillance of the visually ill than before. The same applies to the tuberculosis control, which is carried out on a large scale in connection with the race investigators. Both matters are disease matters and therefore war-related. But the district doctors here do not have the necessary resources and the necessary auxiliary staff, even if they do not possess a sea-going representative, this weakness of the district always appears as a great lack. Numerous associations, funds, etc., still deal with tasks of the tuberculosis-combination, among other things. In this context, I should like to stress the importance of the Commission's proposal for a directive on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances and preparations for use in foodstuffs. I would urge that this regulation be enforced, and that the complaints from all parts of the country be increased as the few medical officials present are entrusted with new tasks and that many tasks be carried out over to the protectorate authorities.
