3a Czech intellectual class of other hostile activities by means of arrests and hearings can still be significantly extended to individual cases. It is striking that the demonstrations at l5.ll.39 were conducted by Czech universities, which is not surprising when one considers the large percentage of university teachers involved in illegal Czech work. However, it must be pointed out to this attitude of the Czech intellectual class that it would have been called and able to make clear to the Czech people the facts created by the formation of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia through appropriate propaganda in the press and also from mouth to mouth. In this field, however, nothing has happened at all until the very last time, when the German victory is clearly evident for the opponent, and on the contrary, the intelligence layer, through the evaluation of foreign radio and other messages, has carried an extraordinarily extensive whispering propaganda into the broadest strata of the Czech people. In these layers, however, the prerequisite for a better relationship to Germanism would have been present. The intellectual layer would have had to evaluate the facts in education and propaganda only accordingly. The intellectual class is therefore entirely to blame for the fact that the Czech people in broadest circles today behave passively and in some cases strongly against Germanism.
