C.2 H o d ž a was appointed Prime Minister on 5 November l935. On the same day, Dr. B e n e s c h held an ex- posé on the foreign policy situation and the final negotiations in Geneva. The exposé included: the Abyssinian conflict, sanctions against Italy, the treaty with the Soviet Union and the "exemplary minority regime". The PRAGER PRESS of 6.1l. points out that Dr.Benesch would be congratulated by the ministers Dr.Hodža and Dr.Černý. Treaty with the Soviet Union concluded on l6.lai l935. According to PRAGER PRESS of 7.1l.1935, on 6 November after the beginning of the debate on the foreign exposé, the chairman of the Czecho-collective declaration gave in name and under the eastern applause of the ruling parties, in which the governing parties expressed their unreserved support for the expos- tion of the foreign minister and the Czechoslovak foreign policy. A similar statement was made by Agrarian Senator D o n at , on behalf of all the co-aligned parties before the Senate. In the debate in the House of Commons, the agrarian U r s i n i explicitly stated: "The new Prime Minister - Hodža - was an active member of the government at the time when the agreement with the Soviet Union came into being."
