English Translation
DISCRIMINATION The representatives of the Czech workers to the Deputy Reich Protector on 24 October 1941 Excellency ! The Czech workers are extremely grateful to you for the fact that today's reception gives them the opportunity to present their views, concerns and wishes to you as the highest representative of the Reich. Each of us has completed a series of company appeals organised by the National Chief of Labor of the Workers. A total of 496 appeals were held in 385 companies, in which some 396,000 workers participated. For the first time in the history of the Czech trade union movement, we, as simple Czech workers, were able to turn to the hearts and minds of our comrades in our speeches, in order to become mediators of the wishes and concerns of them. We appreciate this fact accordingly, especially when we remember that it has happened in the busy days of recent weeks, and we are also fully convinced, Excellency, of your fairness and of your social understanding of the urgent needs of the Czech working people. We know that we live in times of war; and just as every war does, besides the present necessary limitations and hardships, does not bring and requires sacrifices. Therefore, we are modest in our wishes and limit ourselves only to the most necessary. ./.
