English Translation

To Appendix 3 Copy: Letter from the President of the Republic Dr. H a c h a dated 1 November 1941 to the Deputy Reich Protector: /T.317/41. Eure Exellenz, Herr Deputy Reichsprotektor ! In one of our talks, I have allowed myself to ask whether it would not be appropriate for me to address the Czech population in a radio address in order to contribute to their calming and, at the same time, to warn them. At that time, your excellence gave these thanks and reserved itself only to communicate with me until the time which will seem appropriate to you for this step has come. I have meanwhile completed the text of the speech and have the honour to convey it to you in a German way. As soon as your Excellency receives the message in question, I will give the address in this version, expressing the highest respect to Dr. E. Hácha.
