24 November 1939. Stls. 294/39. 1. To Mr Reichsminister Dr. G oer b b e l s, Berlin. Dear Minister, the situation in the Protectorate is not insignificantly aggravated by the fact that, despite the penalties imposed on it, the Czech people listen to foreign channels to a large extent and thus receive daily new material for the whispering propaganda which they are very skillful and well-managed. The Executive Board can naturally only take up individual cases, but kenp does not eradicate the disease itself. Here only/a radical measure helps, namely the order that the Czech population has to hand over its radios as well as their radios. To my knowledge, one such measure has already been carried out with success in other countries - for example in the Slo-wakei. I would be grateful if you would discuss this matter with the Reichsführer SS and Chief of the German Police and then bring it to the Führer for a presentation and a decision. Mr G r e g o r y, you are not opposed to such an order, which would be appropriate to be issued by the Protectorate Government.
