English Translation
The Imperial Protector in Bohemia and Moravia Prague, November 16, 1939. for No. I1b - It is requested to indicate the business logo and the subject matter in further letters. Mr. Regierungsrat Dr. G i e s . Subject: Untranslatability of certain German expressions. 1 Appendix. A few days ago I sent you a note which I described as too far in the text of a regulation the previous regulation of the untranslatability of various German terms (e.g. Reichsprotector, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, etc.). In contrast to this rule, however, it is clear that the Oberlandrat in Pilsen translates the word "Oberlandrat" as "Vrchni zemský rada" when issuing official passports in the under-production. Apart from the impracticability of such translations in the sub-production of documents, the translation is also factually incorrect. Because "Vrchní zemský rada" literally means "Oberlandesrat", is also mentioned in the Czech administration and means an upper council in the state administration (e.g. Bohemia). 02aeN On behalf of: iauhed Please apply !
