STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 2533, sig. 109-12/180
English Translation
General_Gajda: he reminisced about Siberia. He showed a Japanese rifle which he had received during the war and which he allegedly never left. He stressed that he would be constantly received by members of the government. He had over 200,000 people who had surrendered to him. (His secretary previously said that the fascists had 500.o00 registered members). The Pro- tectorate considers Gajda to be a provisional body. Germany must give the Czechs full freedom, they must be masters in their own house. Only then, as an equal partner, can there be a fruitful cooperation. He, Gajde, cannot enter the government until the conditions for such cooperation have been met on an equal basis. The Czechs are the Prussians among the Slavs. This must be understood by Germany. The Vlajka people have no influence at all. The Czech people condemn them, because they participate in German festivities, the Germans do not demand it. Gajda had known what he was doing when he remained in the background. His time would still come. He is already in favour of cooperation with Germany for economic reasons. But equality for the Czechs is a condition sine qua non. Primator Dr. Klapka: Although it was stressed that Kitano's visit is a courtesy visit, Dr. Clapka took the initiative to speak of politics. The present state of affairs is untenable. He was used as a primator, but he didn't know what would be tomorrow.
