62 The interned students. I come back today to a matter which I have already pointed out several times. I also want to stress immediately that I have always met your benevolent understanding. Unfortunately, no final solution has yet been found. I mean the situation of the students interned in concentration camps. After my previous steps, I was allowed to expect all these young people to be dismissed, as far as there is no accusation against individuals. I supported this hope on your favourable opinion and also received with pleasure some time ago the promise that this matter will be dealt with favourably. In December of last year and in January of this year, a group of 200 students came home. Since then, however, no further injunction has been made in this sense. More than 500 students still remain in the concentration camps. I know from requests from the parents and on the basis of other news how serious consequences this matter causes in the individual families. The reverberation of it then spreads into much more circles. Except for the individual satisfaction and help that the return of the students would bring to the parents, the young people could also rank themselves with advantage in the work and production process, where new forces are needed. ./.
