It is therefore only possible from the political side to demand at the enterprise an elimination of the unwanted personnel relations. The conditions at the Riunione were discussed on 19.8.1943 between Hauptsturmführer Kaltenberger of the SD, Dr. Rosenkranz of the Central Association of Contract Insurance and the Signatory. It was clear that in itself there is no legal authority to deal with the undesirable conditions, but these cannot be accepted simply either. Instead, it must be made clear to society that the staff relations of the Prague directorate do not find the approval of the authority. The appropriate information of the main executive of the Riunione for the German Reich, Dr. Fieger,Vienna, is regarded as a viable way. Under the given circumstances, Dr Fieger is probably the only man who could provide a remedy. One is aware that an immediate radical change in personnel relations is not possible. It will be useful for Dr. Fieger, who often resides in Prague on a business basis, to discuss occasionally the staffing conditions of the Prague directorate of the Riunione. The attached report on the riunione is generally correct in terms of staffing. However, in the case of individual persons, mistakes have been made. Thus, the chief director of the subsidiary of the Riunione, the Bohemian-Märische Vers.A.G., can only be concerned with the Yugoslavian Cihak, who, to my knowledge, was arrested at the outbreak of the conflict with Yugoslavia. Ing. Vojtéchovsky is known as a loyal Czech. Also in other cases, the information is only partly correct. The Jewish influence at the headquarters of the Society in Trieste, as highlighted in the report, cannot be countered from here. These conditions are known in the Reich and are taken into account by the competent authorities of the Reich in the negotiations with Italy. The question of the guarantees of the Skoda works has now found a provisional regulation, which may be assumed to be known. In any case, the defence station in Prague ensures that no unmanned person can cause damage. 797
