Zitko, besides the elementary and secondary school, also attended the trade academy and then studied at the trade college in Prague for two years. Before the First World War, he was employed by the company Wiesner in Chrudim. As a substitute reserve in the Austrian army at that time, Zitko was already imprisoned in Russia in the year 1,914. He later transferred to the Czech Legion in Russia and brought it to the captain of the staff at the 7th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Revolutionary Medal, the Foreign Medal, the Cross of War and the English Silver Medal at Legionaires. After his return from the Legion, Zitko was originally active as a representative in various divisions. In his later career as a bank official, he was involved in an affair with the bank in which he was employed and dismissed from such contexts. However, the then general manager of the company "Explosia" in Semtin, Husak, also a legionary, was in favour of Zitko being hired as a worker by this company, despite existing thinking. Zitko is said to have understood in the past that his affiliation to the Czech legion in Russia was to emphasize personal advantages accordingly. Since the establishment of the protectorate, the behavior of the Z. Po-lithically disadvantageous has not become known. He was organized in the Aryan working front and has also been in operation for the Vlajka b.w. St. S.X1 J3-173a/43 141
