833a . Of course, I am at present for some time through a larger commission, the creation of the "Ackermann Monument" for Saaz, which removed the concern for economic existence, but it is extremely important for the visual artist, especially for the sculptor with a greater technical effort, to have the feeling of being in principle safe and secure in the city of the sphere of action, and to be sure of a benevolent promotion and recognition. You, my dear Secretary of State, know very well how important these things can contribute to a prosperous work. My previous life was rich in denials and sacrifices, and so it is now conceivable that I should go to break the tightness of my circumstances to be at the centre of my life. Soberly put, this is what I would like to ask you, Mr. Secretary of State, to accept me with the same goodwill in Prague, as has been spontaneously expressed by various spiritual circles, in the manifestation of my intention to move. At my discretion it would have to be achievable that a sudeten-German artist could prevail in Prague under today's conditions. If you wanted to assure me of your approval, in the same way, to welcome my relocation, this would be a valuable start to my decisive step. BE EO JDnote - -S 2 I cebrer S Heil Hitler!
