176 EUROPEAN REVUE BERLIN W 30, Mackensenstr.17 WRITING Tel.: 229086 · Telegr.: Devaverlag Berlin 8 March 1940 Dear Secretary of State, May I address you today with a request. Since the establishment of the Protectorate, our magazine has repeatedly had the opportunity to publish important articles on the problems of Bohemia and Moravia. In our April issue l939 we had the honour of presenting the first fundamental statement of the Lord's Imperial Protector on the construction of the protectorate as well as a statement by the President Dr. Hacha. Apart from the regular investigations of international law by Prof. Frhrn. of Freytagh-Loringhoven, we finally let a Czech personality speak in the person of the former Supreme Moravec on the questions of Bohemia and Moravia. Now that a year has elapsed since the establishment of the Protectorate, it seems to us particularly expedient to publish a substantial presentation of the principles according to which the construction of the protectorate takes place in view of the hostile propaganda in the new countries. In this connection, I should like to add that at the beginning of the war, our magazine was given the special task of focusing its articles on neutral foreign countries. So I take the liberty of presenting to you, Mr. Secretary of State, the request that you be prepared to take your own position on the problems of Bohemia and Moravia in one of our next issues. We would consider it a high honor if you could decide to accept our occasional request. fs Heil Hitler! J.Uvan
