13 JJSQ Presidium of the Police Directorate in Brussels, Tgb.No.Wi.57541. Brno, 2l May 194l. To the Oberlandrat in Brussels Subject: Recruitment of Germans at the Police Department in Brno. the copy of an attribution to the Order Police Commander, annexed to its letter, must be read as stating that the reason for delaying the processing of the recruitment requests is that the recruitment applications should not have been addressed to the Ministry of the Interior but to the order police commander for the time being. We have not been informed of this route by any authority. As regards the checks on the capacity of the service, it was carried out by the individual persons before their requests were forwarded by the police department of Brno to the national authority. Particularly the medical examination of the pensioners who are eligible for reinstatement was given priority. Only a few of these people were assigned to the road service, most of them were to perform cantile services (for political reasons) in the foreign commissioners. The 4 candidates who were posted in your letter belong to this group of pensioners. In the retirement they were transferred in 1925, 1929, 1938 and 1936. The following should be noted regarding the waiver of some candidates for recruitment to police services. According to some of these people, during the police investigation, they were informed that they would only be eligible for road services, that they could also be used for a service in the Balkan countries and that the young applicants would receive a monthly salary of 7oo.-K. It is to be assumed that these considerations have contributed to the renunciation. The police commissioner, signed.
