In the event of Italy's entry into the war, it was planned in advance to move the previous Roman headquarters of the Czech emigration in Italy temporarily to Sofia and from there to Greece (Athens). This has not been done so far. News from the Protectorate as well as from individual groups from Hungary, Romania, Yugoslavia and Greece arrived at the headquarters in R om, were processed here and sent as diplomatic mail to Paris via the French embassy by means of a special courier, who went once a week. The Polish diplomatic passports were mostly used as couriers. At border clearance it is worth noting that the Italian authorities did not provide the Polish passports at arrival or departure and did not cause any difficulties. Passports are not recognised, unlike some Balkan countries (Hungary, Yugoslavia, Romania), which is why the Czech emigration, which is only in small numbers in Italy, is accompanied by Polish passports issued in Paris.
