STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 1865, sig. 109-5/93
English Translation
.- 9 - The negotiations between the Reich, the Central Electricity Works and the City of Prague are conducted in such a way that a favourable conclusion can be expected. It is not intended to result in an increase in the price of electricity for Prague. In the month under review, the Prague municipal insurance company held its balance sheet meeting with a net profit of almost 5 million, most of which has been allocated in accordance with statutory reserves and special funds. Under this special fund, he has received a new funding for the construction of an urban gallery, so he should now be able to acquire a representative building. Negotiations for the purchase of the Kinsky Palace are about to be concluded. In view of the favourable business situation, it has also become possible to provide Klapka and me with one million as a disposition fund, which so far has not been available at all. The sum spent in the ordinary budget for representative purposes is so ridiculously small that neither the representation obligations nor the obligations towards the socially needy and the cultural institutions can be fulfilled. Klapka and I agreed that half of this sum should be made available to him and half to me. At the end of the year we will give mutual account of the distribution. I note that the Prague Insurance Institute assigned 5o.oo0.-- crowns to the German Volksbildungsstätte and assigned me 50.Ooo.- K especially for social German purposes. I use these 5o o0. - K to satisfy the various requirements of the German party formations. The number of representative commitments is shown by the list of visits that took place at the Old Town Hall: Mayor Kluge from Dresden, a front reporter's company, Colonel Peter, Collin Ross, Mayor Kellner from Ausgburg, Alfred Rosenberg. The Czechs intended to buy a larger number of copies of Hadek's book "Ötení o Praze" for gift purposes.
