In response, I made it clear in writing to Riha that the period of democratic-liberal counting methods was finally over and that the competition was open not only to all Czechs, but also to all Germans, so that in applying its counting method the ratio of 90 million Germans to 7 & million Czechs would arise. The cultural prizes have now been distributed and published. German cultural prize winners were Dr.Erich Bachmann, Dr.Franz Hauptmann, Prof.Franza Langer and Dr.Rudolf Slavitschek.
