43 Prague, 14 January 194l GEHEIM! Betr.: Meeting of the Council of Ministers on the Legionnaire's Affairs. Preliminary report: see previous reports. y 7/o11 1.1517.40. Z 336 reports: The main question in yesterday's meeting of the Ministers of Ministers was whether Prime Minister E l i a š should resign. At first, they were more or less inclined to recommend Eliš's resignation, but after long debates it was decided by all members of the Protectorate government and with the agreement of Elias that he would remain in his office and also the entire Protectorate Government. In this context, it was noted that Minister J e Z e k hopes for the mini-between him and Mi- Ježek appear to be the most important post today and he is the most capable man in the protectorate government. The view of the leading legionaries in this whole action is divided. Eliaš has been suggested to resign aff the publications of Secretary of State K.H. Fr a n k demonstratively. Another part points out that Elias remains un- conditionally tired, so that circles from the Vlajka do not get the upper hand. The officer circle of the legionaries spreads generally: "If we go miss, then we go. But we wait and then we come back." This view is also represented in the highest places of the legionaries. - 2
