Copies telex. Brno 11.7.1940 10.00 To the head of the party liaison office Gauamtleiter S ch ro e te r in P r a g - Burg. Message No. 19002 Subject : School work of the BDO and Kreisgrenzlandamt. On request of the district head, you received an express report on the construction of the border office with the help of the "BDO" of 9 July 1940. In the sense of the question, I should like to begin with the following: in June, the District Office of the Borders of Brno stated that none of the competent authorities had taken the necessary preparatory work for the establishment of the immediately necessary schools in places with the German population outside the city of Brno. For the immediate removal of this kangel, I convened a meeting from the district border office in cooperation with the district school inspector, the secondary school councillor Janeczek, the district head for educators, the local group leader Schattek, in which all the places of the district and beyond, the districts of Rosenau, Bistritz, Wsetin and Boskowitz were determined which schools needed. On my urgent and repeated invitation, Director Oberndorfer took part in this meeting, representing the German Cultural Association of Prague. I had the opportunity to note at that time that the DKv had only prepared a large-scale school programme for Bohemia, but did not carry out the study of the schools for Moravia. In the district of Brno, the initiative for these foundations of vision came from my department, inRiefse Iglau from Dr.Lösl and Head of County Office F'antz. In the presence of Dr Oberndorfer, it was agreed that the local services in Moravia should identify school needs, set up schools and report the implementation to the Cultural Association in order to cover the cost of material and personnel up to the date of establishment or publication.
