44-Ogruf. 1. September 1943. St.M.5/43/St.S.338/43.v - 2. IX. 1943 1.) To Mr. Gauleiter and Reichsstatthalter Konrad Henlein, Reichenberg, Gauleitung. Dear Konrad ! Under the 22.7.d.Js. - sign of St. S. 338/43 I told Kreisleiter Wollner in Pilsen the following: "Thank you very much for your letter of 15.7.dd. In principle, I approve of the implementation of the National Days of the NSDAP planned by you in the Pilsen district. Unfortunately, you cannot count on my participation in a speech from me. A speech is only possible on a current political occasion. I also have the impression that it is not appropriate at this time to choose a group as the starting point for political manifestations, and that the mere participation in the People's Days does not exist because of the ever-increasing number of working conditions." As can be seen from these lines, I have already had some reservations about the way in which the people's days are carried out. Pilsen did not seem to me for reasons of maintaining the peace of work and the rest of the factory at Skoda, as well as for air safety reasons, to events of parades, Schweigemärschen and the like, drawing strong crowds from other parts of the country.
