7 2 Food balance of the Sudetenland. It should be noted that the balance sheet for Sudeteenland, except for the new state-owned "Sudetenland" also includes those Sudet regions which have been annexed to the state-run "Bayerische Ostmark", "Donauland" and "Schlesien". In the following, most tables for the "Historical Countries", Bohemia and Moravian Silesia, divided according to the Protectorate, and the former Sudetenland (area approximately equivalent to the Munich Agreement of September l938) were drawn up. A clear overview of the political limits of the countries covered in the following studies is given in the accompanying map (see the following page), which also shows the extent of current Slovakia, for which some supply balance sheets, especially cereals, have also been drawn up. In the case of Slovakia, as it should be stressed once again, the following is Slovakia's old territory (before the Vienna arbitral award), but rather the new independent Slovakia. The report is based on the average production, processing and consumption values of recent years. Only pigs have used higher slaughter weights than are currently recorded by official statistics, presuming their probable development (see Table 23 et seq.). The experts received substantial support from Landbauernführer Raschka and his staff, who supplemented the available documentation with further information and assessed the estimates made by the experts. General information The size and population of each country is shown in the table below. It follows that there are 10.8 million people living in the "Historical Countries". The population density corresponds almost exactly to that of Germany, but the protectorate is somewhat denser, the Su-detenland more sparsely populated.
