The Head of Division IV Prague, April 3, 1942. 8 To the Secretary of State 4-Group Leader K.H. Fr a n k. Subject: Letter from Dr.Beneš to the President Dr.Hácha of November 30, 1938. Attachments: 2. I present photocopy and translation of the letter of Dr.Beneš used in the presentation of Minister Moravec in Venice. The letter was made known by the fact that the chairman of the government Dr.Krejči occasionally told of the presence of the Berlin journalists in Prague. After the Beneš speech of the l4.3. the propaganda ministry was asked by the department of cultural policy whether this letter could not be obtained for the German foreign counter-propagan there. Obergruppenführer agreed that a short extract from the Beneš speech was given to the President against the issue of the letter. The letter was returned by Minister Moravec in between to the President, who, in turn, was understood by the propagandist evaluation, but made the condition that no photocopy of the letter should be published.
