Archin des Staatssekeetärs at the 1 Reichsprotektor in Bohemia and Mäkren. Eilt sohr! Prague, 4.4.1940. M C Mr. Dr. von G r e g o r as desired, I may inform the following in the following: Negen press-political offenses have been arrested since the outbreak of war I only two Czech leaders were arrested. They are the editors Peroutka and Stránsky. The latter was re-established after 20 days of imprisonment and is again the main author of the "České Slovo"," Despite the very strongly translated newspaper market in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, no time-limits for the day have been suspended so far on the German side. A daily newspaper has stopped its publication itself./Ná-rodní Noviny"./ Interesting developments have been observed with regard to the movement of the circulation figures: such Czech states, which very soon put forward a positive line and convinced their readers that the re-integration of Bohemia and Moravia into the Empire was a historical fixed fact, sank down with their circulation figures. Here, the same development emerged to a greater extent as it began in the empire shortly after the seizure of power. Since the beginning of the eightth century, it has been possible to find that these newspapers have gradually started to rise with their circulation figures, while such journals, which have contributed nothing to a re-education of their Czech readership and have thus become colourless, have now fallen strikingly with their publication figures./Example:Lidové Noviny/.
