1f - l1 - 7.) Economics: Especially for the schools of technical direction, but also for higher schools, the introduction of a short textbook of economics has proved to be necessary. This book should have a less ideological character, rather than serve the practical requirements, which are caused by national socialism and war. The manuscript will be available at the beginning of 1983. 8.) Books for other subjects: For the other subjects, the Reichsstelle only carries out the examination, since a new publication by the Reichstelle itself is not required. The principle, after which the methodological and pedagogical review by the Ministry of Education has been preceded, extends primarily to the political side. In addition, it is decided in each case whether the book concerned has an urgent scientific need, which calculates the paper permit required for the book. The Reichsstelle takes the view that at least during the war, in various subjects, it is possible to do without textbooks (e.g. religious lessons, music lessons, cooking and manual lessons, etc.) to counter the Czechs' desire to create as much books as possible for each type of teaching. 9.) Subjects of technical direction: a) Here, too, permits are only granted in cases where there is a school or political interest on the part of Germany. In particular, the requirements of the war economy and the use of an appropriate skilled worker were taken into account for the specialized and vocational schools.
