However, they will also find their care in the regular scientific lectures of the members and invited guests as well as in the "discussions" published by the philosophical-historical class (2nd volume in print) and by the mathematical-scientific class (6th volume in printing) in two series. In addition, individual researchers from all scientific fields will be supported independently by contributions to research and printing costs, and outstanding achievements will be recognized by awards and medals. The aim of the Academy will be to continue this work almost in its earlier form even during the war. In view of the leading role of German science in the new Europe, this is all the more important with regard to the leading position which the German scientific institutions must maintain in our area, in addition to the purely scientific role of the German academic institutions.
