The Reichsminister und Chef Berlin W8, 22 September 1943 of the Reichskanzlei Voßstraße 6 Rk. 1001 D g 28 It is requested to indicate this business sign for further letters. the Supreme Reichsbchörden the Lords Reichs Governors the state governments the departments subordinated to the leader unnittelber Subject: Visits of representatives of higher state and party offices in the occupied territories. By circular from 29 August 1942 - Rk. 1l92l A - I have noted the wish of the Chief of the High Command of the Wehrmacht, that visits by representatives of higher state and party departments in the occupied territories should be carried out only after prior contact with the competent Wehrmascht commanders, military commanders or the local higher commanders. As the Chief of the High Command of the Wehrmacht informs me, it has happened repeatedly in recent times that visits to the occupied territories have been made without the competent military services having been informed in advance of the journey in good time, which has led to difficulties and unpleasant events. In several cases, in view of the military situation, it was even necessary to stop the journey which had already begun, and I should therefore like to ask again, with a circular dated 29 May, for the information to be given to the Commission. On 1 August 1942, the Chief of the High Command of the Wehrmacht announced his wishes to be taken into account and to carry out trips to the occupied territories only after being notified in due time to the commander-in-chief and in close agreement with the military commanders in question. In addition to this, I ask you to limit the number of visits and participants, especially the companion, to the most no-trendy hatred, with regard to the reduced traffic conditions and the saving of cars.
