As was previously stated, enterprises of international importance were among the confiscated enterprises. In particular, the wealth of the Petschek Jewish family, which with its international connections and capital participations of tremendous importance and which was decisive for economic life in Czechoslovakia, has produced works that could only be carried out by its own trained administrative apparatus. Although the Pamilien members had already begun the liquidation of their assets in the Old Kingdom and Czechoslovakia in l938, assets of several hundred million crowns remained in the Protectorate, which had to be quickly captured and protected against the access of countless interested parties. The tireless zeal of the state police has succeeded in ensuring enormous values of this property also abroad and later in involving it in the confiscation. If it has managed to manage these huge values with the lowest personnel costs, this is only due to the willingness of the personnel. The liquidation of the petchek assets will always remain proof of the rapid and clean work of the state police. VI. The unforeseeable accumulation of seizures, the work associated with the safeguarding and management of these facilities, the resulting examination of the state police with tasks which were truly not in their sphere of responsibility, and the inevitably resulting distraction of the State police from their actual tasks, have the immediate need to ensure that the police are able to carry out their duties.
