14a understandably that the purchases via Omnipol take place only with the consent of the trade-political department of the Reichsnährungsministerium. This means that not only the buying country, but above all also the purchase price of the goods should be coordinated with the REM. In practical terms, this would mean that Omnipol is not allowed to invest overprices and thus cannot actually come to the purchase of larger quantities of fat. After that, the commitment of the ReM to Dr. Schmidt would be almost meaningless, which is quite clear to Mr. Moritz. According to your decision yesterday, which, however, was made at the oral lecture by Dr. Schmidt based, Omnipol will now make purchases without the REM being notified beforehand. The purchases will only be subsequently reported to the RE M. How long the REm will be watching this process remains to be seen. In itself, the whole process is an economic one and from a German point of view, it is more impossible. The protectorate, however, finds itself in a state of emergency which is recognized by the REM and must therefore help itself, as long as the REm makes a good face a bad game. Prague, 27 June 1942.
