- 7 - the following wording: "Mr President, in these days all the states and classes of our nation declare their will to halt the violation of the old borders of our state. Debbälb has also entrusted us with a statement in this regard by a number of members of the ancient nobility of our country. Loyalty to the Bohemian state that our ancestors created and helped to maintain for a thousand years is so self-evident a duty for us that we have considered whether we should emphasize it explicitly. We consider it our duty to preserve the heritage of our fathers. The countries of the Bohemian Crown belonged together through so many years=hundreds and have survived so many storms in common= together that they - we hope - will also survive these times of unrest and violence. With the wish that the old borders of the Bohemian Crown remain unharmed, si= erlich also emanates from the care, for the future of our descendants and from the sense of responsibility=ability for the freedom and well-being of the Czechs. Our ancestors always sought a friendly relationship between the two nations in the country and so we also yearn for our country = people of the German tongue to share with us the love of the indivisible homeland. We have the firm belief that this can be the case. But we hope in particular that the Christian principles in this country will maintain order and culture. In believing in a better future, we assure ourselves that we are aware of our first duties to the fatherland and to the state, which was the home of our ancestors and whose old rights we always wanted to defend and will defend today."
