St.S. IV D - 65 g/43. Prague, 17 May 1943. l.) Note: On 15 May the 15th century, the Under-Secretary of State v.Burgsdorff called in the morning hours and demanded to speak to the Secretary of State. I informed v. Burgsdorff that the Minister of State was absent from Prague and was expected to return at the beginning of the next week. v.Burgs- dorff came to his request and complained that, contrary to his written undertaking to the Wehrmacht authorised representative, the Secretary of State did not agree to the lifting of the Uk position. He sat around here and did not know what to do. He thought the behaviour was very reckless. It would only be possible to write four or five sentences to the Wehrmacht authorized officer. Since v.Burgsdorff was in a lively mood, I replied calmly and objectively to him that I would present the contents of his remarks to the Secretary of State. On the matter myself, I would say that I dictated the draft letter to the German Wehrmcht authorised officer on 14.5.d.Js. The case has been submitted for signature. 2.) K.H. with this note submitted to the Secretary of State for approval.
