English Translation

H6a friendly reasons, as it seemed to me. I now have the request to you, Mr Reichsminister, to deal with a proposal for my appointment as the permanent representative of the Reichskommissar Ostlend by the Führer, if he is to be placed in the woods by Mr Reichshinister Rosenberg, pending a clarification of the administrative organization in the East. I do not want, as you will understand, to be faced again with the situation of losing my job by changing the organization of my job, and before I am appointed, the question of my secondment, because something else is coming, as is the case with the other members of the Eastern Administration, not even for me in Prague, with Mr Staatsmini- des Innster K.H. In the meantime, the Minister of the Reich has still proposed me for use in Italy. However, whether and when such use is realized is unknown to me and probably also undetermined. I hope, therefore, that I will be able to return to the Wehrmacht in the next few days, from which, if it should be so, I can at any time be relieved of the importance of my military rank and, accordingly, of my work.
