At 11.00 a.m. on 14.8.41, an explosive charge disguised as coal was found during the unloading of coal coke for the Prague State Police Department building. The explosive charge was manufactured as follows: a (soldered) zinc sheet box with a height of 70 mm and a diameter of 50 mm was filled with ammonsalpeter explosives. Through the lid of this explosive box a detonator capsule of non-German origin was inserted, in which was a piece of guttapercha ignition cord. This whole device was covered by a black coal-like mass, so that the detonation charge was well disguised as a larger coal lump. The cladding mass consists of bitumen (asphalt) sand and some coal. By firing this alleged coal, the outer mass would have been burned down and the explosive charge would have exploded through the ignition cord, which stands out from the lid.
