In the following remarks the proposal for the establishment of a Reiter regiment in the Protectorate is to be justified: The Bohemian-Mihrisches Land has always been the home of zhlreicheUilitischer and civilian equestrian associations because of its soft soil and its consistently agriculturally used areas.Both the Habsburg regime and the Czech state were fostered and promoted to a significant height. The Czech equestrian regiments were well-trained, and the officers' corps were strongly represented in all international competitions. Racing enjoyed a great reputation all over the world.The Pardubitzer Steeplechase (twice won by the Schutzstauffel, i-Obersturm leader Langnich) is well-known.The mounted parts of the Czech police still stand out today with a particularly good and rich horse material.
