LhV S -4 as a result of the long stay in concentration camps. I presume that it would be an act of justice and political insight if read people would be released sooner or later, because of a common further political activity of the same, there are no worries in place, for they have received such a powerful teaching that they will certainly not engage in any activity against the German Reich. By the way, they can also be placed under direct police supervision in the protectorate, so that their return home cannot bring the slightest danger. The same applies to the students brought to concentration camps. The vast majority of them have not participated in any demonstrations at all, but have paid off with the loss of their freedom for the careless actions of a few unknown colleagues. The return of these students to their home country is also without danger, because without a doubt their own families will ensure that they quietly devote themselves to bourgeois professions and in no way deal with politics. Their release would, in turn, bring great gain, because their families, relatives and acquaintances will welcome their Rickkehr as proof of the goodwill of the Reich authorities, for which they themselves will always be grateful. When I make this request, I do so in the firm production of the country that I am not only obliged to do so as a representative of the Czech people, but also that my opinion towards the rich and towards the leader and chancellor of the empire absolutely requires me to pay attention to this urgent matter, which, in its consequences, if my request is supported, will certainly exert an extremely beneficial influence on the further organization of the conditions in the protectorate. I am referring here to the understanding which the Lord Reichsprotector has always challenged me in such matters, and I am also building on the state-made wisdom of the leader and rector, as expressed in particular in his reply to my telegram dated 15 March 1940.
