English Translation

- 2 - < one can hardly deny the authority of the Federal Foreign Office for these stocks.I can imagine, however, that through recent negotiations, which could be achieved by the highest possible position of the Reich Protector, possibly by the Secretary of State himself, with the Foreign Office, that the Reich's protector would be given a stronger influence on the Political Archive. These negotiations would have to set themselves the goal, for example, that in the future the Political Archives will continue to make all purely non-political reports and translations available to the Foreign Ministry. The Federal Foreign Office would also have to reserve the power of disposal over all publications relating to neutral states. On the other hand, the Reich's protector would have to exercise the power of injunction on internal political matters, as well as on Preimaurers,Jews, Bolshevism and other tormented states. The question of whether a planned publication is politically desirable or not should in most cases be easier to decide from Prague than from Ber-lin. the extremely long-term working methods and, above all, the impersonal action of the Foreign Office were unwelcomely noticeable. There were always several departments responsible for approvals for publication (Politisches Archiv,Politische Abteilung,Kultur-Abtlg.,Presse-Abteilg. ,Unterstaatsssretär,State Secretary etc.)it should now be agreed with the temporary office under certain circumstances. In the future, there would be only one instance in charge of such matters, so that an authorisation, if necessary, could be obtained in the course of a week and not, as has been the case so far, take many months. /Motm
