STATE SECRETARY FOR THE RUSSIAN PROTECTOR IN THINGS AND IN MORAVA, PRAGUE, inv. 481, sig. 109-4227
English Translation
This state has 200,000 inhabitants and determines from a single point the wages of the workers, bextimmtxdie sets the price of raw and finished products and also determines the selling price. Here lies the danger for the whole world." To what extent these fears are or were justified, I cannot judge as layman. With regard to the seriousness, however, I was firmly convinced that this danger threatens the world, and I can remember one more thing. During visits by howet Russian trade and military representativeess of Czechoslovakia, in particular various Soviet delegations in Czechoslovakian enterprises, or during trips of Czech industrialists to the Soviet Union, but also during negotiations with representatives of the trade department of the Soviet embassy in Prague, the following was often told in various variations: We in the Soviet union do not need Czech workers. We also have farmers, but above all we need "brain" from Czech technicians and engineers and the ability of the Czech factory masters. This means that we want to buy and also pay well good Czech projects and plans, be it in the arms industry or in another industry, - we also want to pay well for models and at the same time temporarily "borrow" Czech masters and instructors, so that in our factories the Soviet workers learn their work on the Czech models. We could, of course (as they say, the Soviet delegates) get your projects and plans in different and relatively easy ways (the military and industrial spyage is supposed to be here), but that would not be enough for us, because these workers also have to teach your people our so-called lieutenant to our factories. Therefore, we want to buy projects and models from you and pay for them (even if we do not recognize patent rights in the Soviet Union and get your factory master and instructors for us, we will produce ourselves."
