24 Copy HOEAM M Opeame RT Prague, 21 January 1940 in Bohemia and Moravia I 1 a - 31 ARANICE US gea reta msg megame eti1T Eietres9y To the SOI Gauleitung Niederdonau of the NsDAP dsh ,nonsW i e n IX denbroesde Me has been reported that the circuit leader in Neubistritz had ordered the block and cell managers in Neuhaus to visit and ask all persons who are suspected to be of German descent to declare themselves to be Czechs or to declare that they are Czechs. This instruction is due to the fact that, according to the district head in Neubistritz, the city of Neuhaus would be separated from the Protectorate for a short or long time and integrated into the Reichsgau Niederdonau. Until the time of the integration, it is to be achieved that Germanism in Neuhaus receives the upper hand by paying. For this purpose, questionnaires were sent to the head of the blood and cell, in which they should enter the persons of the individual families in the city, if they are actually or probably of German origin. The order was laid out by the block and cell leaders that it was their task to influence the population with every possible means, so that it could become as numerous as possible as possible into German. This has also led to rumors about dismissals or expulsions being circulated and that on 16 December 1939, during the gathering in favour of the WHw of German nationals Richard Hilmer, the protectorate gendarmerie official at the Neuhaus gendarme station announced the following: "On 15 January 1940, Neuhaus was connected to the Reich. The Czechs are obliged to obtain evidence of their Aryan descent and can then remain in their places. The one who, on the father's or mother's side, descends from Germans or is of German origin at all and has known himself as a Czech until now, is expelled." He also advised to obtain the evidence of Aryan descent immediately, since he himself would carry out the control in the relevant district of the city. I would ask that this appropriation, which has become the subject of an investigation on your part, be made available to me and intervene if, as far as I am concerned, they do not prove to be correct, and I ask for the results of your investigation to be communicated as blatantly as possible. I use this opportunity to ask about the outstanding news about the punishment of Dr. med. Hansmann in Iglau, who, in his capacity as head of the district office in October i939, had a series of attacks brought to debt. On behalf of: IV B.6 gez. dr. von Burgsdorff Atement!
