- 3 - our fight today should not lead to victories and goals. /About the importance of the military contract concluded with England speaks the colonel of the csl. general staff of Chodský: Through this contract concluded in the corresponding week the existence of the Csl army on the ground of England was established. The contract refers to all csll. Units, not only on the ground of Englnd, but wherever British influence exists. With this day began a new stage in the history of the new csl. army. It is the first contract of England with a foreign army on British soil. Exactly before a year the same contract was concluded in France, which was valid until the conclusion of the New Treaty. The host right granted to us here in England and the new treaty show that great trust is shown by the British government of our army. The warm welcome that has been given to us proved that not only the statesmen, but also the British people appreciated the services that the csl. soldiers performed for the Allies in the first year of the war. It would be a mistake to assume that today in England we will start again where we began at the conclusion of the Treaty in France in l939. At that time in France it was a question of creating the conditions for the establishment and continuation of our army. We had to do every job from the ground up in all areas of training and equipping a Czech force to defend the people who became an allied state at that time. Today in England we already have a trained army. Only the troops and the administrative forces were transferred to another country. This treaty expresses the recognition of the scl. Directed by London and "just as we have become an allied country, with all the rights and puddles of an ally. All Czechs must rejoice in the introductory phrase of the Treaty. He says: "The government of Pnglani and the government of the CSR, which upholds the resolution to continue the war until the end, recognize that in mutual interest, there is a need for the Czechoslovak army to continue. "It lies as well asó in the interest of England as in ours. Dierser sentence also explains that there really is an independent Czech army. The most important sign of the freedom of a state is the existence of an army. According to the treaty, the csl. army is composed of land and air forces. The land army forms a Czech leadership standing unit and stands as a whole under British command. The air force is inserted into the British Air Force and forms independent battle and hunting squads. In the Anee, only the Czech leaders in the Air Force decide the British superiors, since in the Luftwaffe there are only a few superior places in the Hgnd of Tschéchen. The cl. Plüger wear the uniform of the brit. Air Vaffe With their badge and an armband with the inscription Czechoslovakia! The army is deceiving Czech uniforms. To support the Czech nurse the Czech government has received loans. The independence of the army is secured. Our army is neither paid, nor endured by a foreign power, but it is the for his army of the CsR. The csl. Laws and regulations, the members of the army are governed by the csl. army. This fact also has a great political significance, because independent jurisdiction is also a sign of the freedom of a country. With the 25th of October l940 a new time began for us. - 4 -
