This result is still confirmed for the conditions in the Eastern Mark by the Second Decree on the Law on the Reunification of Austria with the German Reich of 18 March 1938 and the Decree of the Reichsführer-H and Chief of the German Police of 23 March 1938 - C.d.S. B.-No. 150/38 - issued pursuant to § 2 of this Decree. According to § 1 of the above-mentioned regulation, the Reichsführer-i and Chief of the German Police may take the necessary measures to maintain the security and order in the Eastern Mark even outside the otherwise defined legal limits. § 2 of the regulation authorizes the Reich-Führer and Head of the Deutsche Po lizei to transfer its powers to other positions. The decree reads as follows: "In accordance with § 2 of the second decree on the Law on the Reunification of Austria with the German Reich of 18 July 18, the law on the reunification of Austria and the German Empire of 18 December 1819 was amended.
