C The representative of the Federal Foreign Office to the Reichsprotektor Prag II, 6th Kai 1944 in Bohemia and Moravia Thungasse 18 telex 60141, 77941, 77841, 64941 lol5/16 Prot.2 Kroat. No. It is requested to indicate this file and the subject matter in other Minictera letters. Subject: Former Yugoslav Envoy, 6. MAI1944 Prague III., Brückengasse 15. of 8.III.d.J. - No.lol5/15 Prot 2 Kroat - 2 Attachments A confidential note, without signature, of the 3.d.M., which was sent to Mr. Min. Rat Fischer at the request of Prof.Beyer, will be handed over to him. The note turns in sharp porm against the introduction of the Croatian consul - not vice consuls - into the building of the former Yugoslavian legation and speaks in the last sentence of the official representative of a friendly and allied state, recognized by the Pührer, as the "doubtful vice consular of a dubious Stáate". In my opinion, this written exception criticises the policy of the Führer and not only crosses the wishes of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, who goes to the point that the representatives of the united and neutral states are now in full agreement, but also those of the Secretary of State in line with the wishes expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. In detail, the author obviously does not realize that, according to the state of affairs I have been informed, the building of the former Yugoslavian embassy of the Heydrich Foundation is not to be cleared for the benefit of the Croatian Consulate, but in principle to be used for other purposes. Mr Fischer's advice on this matter is therefore not "unlikely" as the author of the memo on page 3, paragraph 2/ calls it. I would like to say once again that the Croats - some of them suitable accommodation - agree with only temporary instruction in the building Brückengasse l5 until a suitable other object is available for them. I should like to repeat that for more than 6 months no other suitable accommodation has been sought in vain. Since the Croatian state is now the only successor state of Yugoslavia, according to the allocation of Dalmatiaş, the Croatians are therefore entitled to the former Yugoslav embassy building. With regard to the last written fillings against an allied state and its representative, I may ask for submission to the Minister of State. The attached memo proves once again that a joint accommodation of the two parties is impossible. To the ministerial office / - e.g. by Mr. Min.Council Dr. G i e s PraR St.M.π2-28/43 455
