T7 - 2 the fact that the various journals are published by the institutes is due to the fact, that so far no rector has taken care of these things. It had even been the case that Rector Saure had transferred the preparation of university history to the Academy of Sciences for the year l948, although it was not a history of the Academy, which had only existed since l99, but a history from the University. If Magnificence Buntru is now criticizing a development in the journalistic sector, it is not true to attack the various institutions, but to realise that university leadership in this sector has not yet developed any initiative at all. Personally, I am very willing to ensure that the various journals and series of writings involve the university, and it would probably be possible to do so without difficulty in all the journals (apart from the "South-East Studies"). It was agreed that these things would be discussed in detail, especially after a return speech with Sturmbannführer Wolf. 2. With the former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Laufke, it had been agreed that the lecture "Volk und Staat" for lawyers (I. and II. Semester) would be given by me and Prof. Raschhofer. In any case, it should be achieved by the fact that the students in this lecture do not only receive the general rule of state teaching and philosophy, but also a lecture which takes due account of the factor "people" in addition to the factor of "state".The new Dean, Prof. Wolf, rejected this regulation for the winter semester I943/44 and Prof. Henrich, so far Technical University, is commissioned with the lecture. Henrich is primarily an administrative lawyer and has not published anything about popular policy issues. Wolf is a legal philosopher and very little taught on popular policy questions, as Laufke always complained. fN7 The rector shares my point of view and wants to clarify the matter with Wolf and Henrich in the sense that until the return of Raschhofer I regularly hold the lecture "Volk und Staat" because it is important for the national policy orientation of the future administrative officials. 3. Finally, the rector took the question of the rectorate on his own initiative. He explained that he had initially thought of proposing Prof. Hof-mann to the rector; however, since Hofmann was currently appointed to the district, this solution was not considered. He now developed the following proposal: Rector: Prof. Klausing, Vice-Rector: Professor Zatschek. - 3 -
