During the winter holidays 1941 and 1942, the pupils of the Klafsen performed 5 to 7 half-day relief service at the Karlovy Vary Labour Office. At the same time, the teachers worked honorably at the government funds, the DAF, the Economic Office, the formations, the HJ and NSV. Training. For part of the summer holidays, the teacher of the harvest aid, the Aemtern, the Wehrmacht support were available. As already indicated in the review, our school has always taken into account the wishes of parenthood to a large extent. Parents have encouraged the establishment of the school, at their request the humanist Gymnafium was transformed into a real gymnasium. The connection between parents' house and school was maintained by fixed consultation hours. On September 1, 1930, the parents joined together to form an organized parents' association in which the teachership was represented by the director and some teachers. In regular parents' evenings, teachers and invited guests gave lectures on education and instruction, followed by a pronunciation. The parents also set up aptitude tests and career guidance for the pupils of the fourth and eighth grade. Furthermore, they presented the pupils every year at Christmas and on other occasions with money and material donations. However, the main focus of the Parents' Committee was the establishment of a new school building. The increase of the chief institution was also considered. Because the institution had long since become too small, together with the annexation for the 1100 visitors of the boys' and girls' high schools. Unfortunately, all efforts remained unsuccessful as a result of the economic crisis in the Sudetenland. And so today the 19 classes of the Dberschule are still housed in three different institutions: 11 in the main building, 2 in the economic upper school and 6 in the old trade school in Andreasgasse. In the Central Committee of all the parents' associations of the Czech Republic the chairman of the Karlovy Vary Parents' Association led the project. On the day of honor of our institution, we are with you in faithful remembrance and send you the greetings of the assembled school community. May it be granted to you to return to your home in full health after victory! 15
