St.M. IV P - 9 c/44g. Prague, 24 May 1944. 29 Seletn 1.) Note: On 23.5.d.Js., a certain king spoke of the Auswärtigkeits Amt. Köster had been avised by envoy v.Luckwald and intendant Thürmer and, in the sense of the word, carried out the following: The Federal Foreign Office is currently organizing so-called "home affairs" programmes for the Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, etc. ethnic groups living in the United States of North America as part of the anti-roosevelt action. The Federal Foreign Office is well aware that all programmes going abroad are being supervised by the Federal Foreign Ministry. It is now not appropriate that the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not know anything about these programmes. There was therefore a desire for the Federal Foreign Office to receive the text of the broadcasts retrospectively in order to give suggestions regarding the design, as Köster expressly admitted. Köster promised - in return to some extent - the transmission of excerpts from the broadcasts of the enemy powers at all and of detailed material, which is of interest for the design of the Czech broadcasts. Among the documents would be the radio mirror, which had been frozen for Reich Foreign Minister v. Ribbentrop. I have told Köster that the Czech radio is an autonomous institution. The interest in the Czech broadcasts is mainly in driving a wedge into Czech emigration. This interest is because it weakens the importance of emigration and thus reduces its influence on the local population, for 18M- -9-9/44=Rs
