The special report has also left a strong impression on German-friendly Czechs. One is very satisfied with the development of the maritime war and explains that this has recently strengthened their confidence in the final victory of the empire. However, in the broad masses of the Czech population, this special report generally found little consideration. Nevertheless, it does not appeal to voices, primarily from the circles of intelligence and middle class; which the submarine weapon probably calls the greatest danger for the Allies, if one could believe the German messages unrestrictedly. In addition, an immediate counter-propaganda tried to prevent possible positive effects of this special report with the Czech population by doubting its correctness. The declaration of war by National China on England and America has sparked a strong echo among the German population. It is often believed that this will be of crucial importance for the further course of the war, since Japan now has the opportunity to resort to the enormous human reservoir in National China and therefore will be able to achieve a decision in the East Asian region alone, which would significantly relieve the axis.
