U.StS. 18-08- t4 /42. Translation Titl. DududasC aa 2a.2rä:s bea Reichsp o eh.oe Karl Hermann Frak in Bohemia and Märten. State Secretary Eing.: - 8. JAN. 1942 in Prague. UME As can be seen from the daily press, there is an order on all sides and the corruption of the former political parties is being fought everywhere, so that everything will soon look as many of us wanted. When the peasants visited the Reichsprotektor, it was said that no one should win the war, which is very important. There are, however, areas where enormous money is earned. Businessmen in textiles still earn large sums and, moreover, those who work for the army, but especially those who build wooden barracks, half of the amount is always the pure merit. Among them are also former legionaries, although they have already been removed from their homes. All carpenters who build wooden barracks for the Wehrmacht earn so much that they don't even know what to do with the many money. Everyone buys jewelry and other goods to invest the money in a safe way. A case is known where a man still in debt in early 1939 now owns three tenement houses, an automobile, a Mengé jewelry, expensive pictures and money in mass; all this he has earned in the military barracks construction. Everyone has been granted a car for military purposes, so they drive to the country, buy food together, often at very high prices. I would like to draw attention to something else, e.g. the completion of the master builder's examinations. The universities are closed and former professors participate in these examinations. In the previous year, almost everyone who only found himself passed this test and was told that it was usually enough for the successful completion of the test if it was a former officer or a person from whose relatives someone was in the concentration camp.
