41 The Government Commissioner of the City of Deutsch-Brod, May 24, 1943. To the Secretary of State Büco des S'ag'sfohretärs 44-Group leader K.H. Fr a n k , VO. Prague. in Buhm n pubien. E.rc 26. MAY 1943 Castle SSrer Re Te T I would like to inform myself that I took up office on January 2, 1943 in Deutsch- Brod. I use this opportunity to thank you for the benevolent promotion, which now allows me to serve the leader and the rich in the responsible place. I will always use all my strength to carry out my duties in the sense of your guiding activity. Mr. Secretary of State, now I have a great request, with which I address myself to you with confidence in memory of the old connection during the SdP's time of struggle. I was admitted to the 7th on April 2nd, l939 and on the same day I was promoted to a storm commander. The award of this rank in the &/ was all my pride, the reward for my 3o-year-old volcanic-political work. I was dismissed by the Reichsführer from the 7ý in August of 1994 via my own request. The reasons that led me at that time to ask for my release from/ lie in the following: I have lived in a completely unsatisfactory marriage during the whole battle period, all my efforts to shape the coexistence into a har monic marriage remained unsuccessful. The time of struggle, during which I was constantly in the forefront and was completely filled with political activity, did not leave me with the time to think much about my personal things. In the jubilation of the days of liberation, I made one last great attempt to shape my marital relationships in such a way that life makes you happy. When this wish also failed, I came to the decision to divorce me. However, my wife would not know anything about a divorce and wrote to the Reichsführer some letters, which did not correspond to the truth in everything, but led to the fact that I had to undergo various interrogations in deriø. After a debate with Miý -Brigadeführer Teus, in which I had to state that my reasons for the intended divorce found a negative assessment, I asked for the support of my resignation from the group leader v. Woyrsch. Today I know that at that time I acted hastily, but during this time I was so torn inwardly by the continuing excitement that I no longer knew any advice and only wanted to be calm. The fact that I had acted hastyly at the time proves that the matter was handled by the party. I would like to add to my letter a copy of my current letter to the responsible circuit leader, which contains all the reasons that led to a divorce. I am now a Community leader in the NsDAP and I am due to attend the next .\A -32f/42 215
