The popular interest of the student community. - Imaer again one hears the supposition that today's study only studies for the Kxamen, that he or she conducts pure "bread study". There is no doubt that there is a certain tendency towards such a narrowing of the school attendance - a narrowening which is almost forced in part by war-related exams=. Under these circumstances, it is particularly benerkenawert that lectures and exercises in folk science at the German Kerlg University in Prague enjoy a certain popularity, although they are usually not prescribed for the exameu. It is particularly gratifying to note that, in addition to the study-rendon dor philosophical faculty, also those of the medical and legal faculty, are of course only partially covered, the German Karls University has seven teaching= stuuble, in whose fams the word "people" precomat. How is the popular interest of the students distributed now? The figures for the winter semester 1943/44 are available. From them there is a striking concentration of interest on popular political, ethnopsychological and population-political topics, without neglecting the other problems. The oldest folk-scientific study in Prague is the one for German ethnology. Kr is at the same time the oldest German chair in this field.
